Sweet B Cookies: Burlington, NC
It’s Wandering Wednesday, y’all, and we have to tell you about a place you need to wander to in Burlington, North Carolina! Sweet B Cookies located inside Holly Hill Mall.
Lordie mercy! Brittany, the B in Sweet B, and her husband, Ryan, are both from Alamance County, and are two of the most joyful people we have ever met. There were smiles and laughter from the moment we got there until we said goodbye, as you’ll see in the video, and visiting the shop is worth it just to meet them. But now, let’s talk about the sugar, shugar.
Brittany was in nursing school and wanted a way to make money to help out. She’d always loved to cook and felt cookies were a great option so she and Ryan put out feelers to see if there would be any interest. They took samples to work and before you knew it, things took off. Ryan was working full-time, second shift, and would come home with up to 12 dozen orders at night! Soon, the pandemic hit, and Sweet B operations had to come to a halt. When things started to somewhat normalize again, Brittany returned to work, but the call to bake cookies was strong. She finally prayed and told God, if He wanted her to return to Sweet B, to please push her out of her position; three days later, she was told her contract was ending, and the rest is history! The mall soon had a wonderful place open up, they were able to get it and open operations in October 2022. Sweetest story ever!
Walking through the mall, you can’t help but smell the sweetness coming from the oven, along with the movie theater popcorn Ryan keeps going upfront, which is equally delicious! Walkers and shoppers have to make a stop as they go by and people drive from other towns just to get Sweet B’s cookies. They not only serve the mall patrons but also do large orders for weddings, showers, family gatherings, office events, and more, while also serving their community at every turn, and networking and supporting other local business owners. This couple, this business, are becoming the heart of the revitalized Holly Hill Mall.
