B’s Irish Beef Stew
Just in time for St. Patrick’s day, we’ve designed a menu with this as the main dish, and it is the best beef stew with an Irish twist! Pairs so wonderfully with our Irish Soda Bread!
B’s Irish Beef Stew

4 tablespoons all purpose flour
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic salt (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (adjust to taste)
Salt and Pepper to taste (we used 1 to 1 1/2 tsps)
2 pounds beef stew meat
5 golden potatoes peeled and chopped
1/2 sweet onion chopped
10 carrots chopped
21 ounces beef broth
11 ounces Guinness
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 tablespoons minced garlic
Directions
- Combine your flour, salt, pepper, and seasonings in a bowl. And feel free to add any other seasonings you love! These are just the ones we used. Add beef and toss to coat.
- Put your olive oil into your frying pan and warm on med-high heat.
- Add coated beef to the frying pan and stir often until it browns on all sides.
- Add your browned meat to the crock pot and then pour in your chopped veggies. Add tomato paste and garlic and mix it all up.
- Add your beef broth and Guinness beer and stir well again.
- Heat in crock pot on low for 6-8 hours or until your carrots and potatoes appear to be cooked.
- Serve in a bread bowl or with our delicious Irish soda bread… and drink another Guinness along the way!
