Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery

For Mother’s Day, we wanted to do something fun for B’s Mom, since she’s probably more adventurous than we are, and is always up for a day trip! We decided to take her for a trip down memory lane and visit White Lake, a special place that both of our families had spent many summers when we were growing up, probably like most anyone from North Carolina. We researched other things we ccould do in that area of Elizabethtown and we stumbled on Cape Fear Vineyards. We are so glad we did! Be sure to visit our video below!
Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery is so much more than a vineyard. They host weddings and other large events on their beautiful property, they have lodging and getaway packages, as well as a luxury spa on the grounds, and their own distillery. And there is a fun gift shop, The Tipsy Toad, anyone would love! I mean you could spend a day or a weekend getaway at this place and never run out of relaxing things to do and enjoy!
We made reservations and dined at The Cork Room which offers great outdoor seating on the porch, where we dined, as well as on a beautiful outdoor patio. Our lunch guests were a quite comfortable and gorgeous peacock and two duckie friends of his. The really delicious things that we had were the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Ancho Braised Pork Belly… oh my goodness. These were both so good! Our lunches were the Calabash Shrimp Po Boy, the Beef Brisket Burnt Ends, and the Prime Rib Dipper, and while these were all delicious, they couldn’t compare to the tomatoes and pork belly! We also had a flight of wine and chose a bottle to bring home, and Jo had a Beach Blast off their cocktail menu – Beach Blast Coconut Rum Creme, grenadine, passion fruit, and pineapple juice. Delicious!

After lunch, we took our drive down memory lane at White Lake and walked out on Goldston Pier remembering good times. So cool to think B and I were both there growing up, just down the sand from one another, and here we are. Anyway, then it was off to Sunni Sky’s Ice Cream in Angier (that’s another story!) and then home – three tired but happy travelers!
If you live within driving distance of Cape Fear, we hope you’ll visit them for a meal or wine tasting, some shopping or spa time, or look them up for your next large event!
